Another fire safety challenge completed.

Sometimes improving fire safety means literally creating a new way out.

What was once a solid blockwork wall is now a fully compliant means of escape route, helping to improve safety for everyone using this busy manufacturing facility.

This project involved creating a new opening through a substantial blockwork wall and installing a new fire-rated double door set, all within a live factory environment with constant foot traffic and ongoing operations.

The full scope of works included:

Installation of a new fire-rated double door set
New Fireline board construction to the surrounding wall details
Plastering and making good of all affected wall surfaces
Firestopping to a concealed head-of-wall detail above the suspended ceiling
Full integration into the building's fire strategy and means of escape provisions

Working in occupied and operational environments requires more than just technical expertise. Careful planning, effective communication, and robust safety controls ensured the works were completed with minimal disruption to the client's day-to-day activities.

The result is a clean, compliant installation that not only improves life safety but also blends seamlessly into the existing building.

Projects like this may look straightforward once completed, but a lot of work goes on behind the scenes to deliver them safely and efficiently.

After years of delivering PPM inspections and maintenance for the previous owner, we’re back at the Globe Works, Birmingham. Now appointed by Homes for Students to carry out a full fire door inspection programme at this major student accommodation scheme.

Moving Office to our new HQ

We’re on the move …

Due to continued growth across the business, we’ve officially outgrown our current offices and will be temporarily relocating to a new base from the 8th of May.

Our new location sits alongside our sister company, UK Fire Door Training , as we transition into this next phase of growth.

It’s only temporary though — we’re already looking ahead to an even bigger milestone as we prepare to move into our new, purpose-built premises later in 2026.

In the meantime, it’s business as usual. Our contact details remain the same and our team is fully operational throughout the transition.

AJM had the pleasure of hosting a stand at the UK Careers Fair in Wolverhampton at the Molineux Stadium, representing AJM & CO UK LTD .

It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with ambitious individuals from a wide range of backgrounds, all eager to explore new career paths and development opportunities.

Leicester University at Highfield Adventure Playground

AJM & Co Supporting Community Projects

This week, members of the AJM & Co UK Ltd team proudly volunteered their time and skills to support a fantastic community refurbishment project led by Leicester University at Highfield Adventure Playground, located in Spinney Hill Park.

As part of the initiative, our team supplied and installed two brand new external steel security doors — completely free of charge.

The work forms part of a wider refurbishment effort to improve the safety and facilities of the much-loved local playground, which provides a valuable space for children and families in the area.
